Industry Symposium III: Clinical Considerations in Hemophilia Care: An Interactive Case-Based Session for Nurses

September 20, 2014
7:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Audience:
Nurses

This symposium focuses on the key considerations for nurses in managing patients with hemophilia. It will include include both a panel discussion and interactive case-based exercises. During the case-based exercises, the attendees will be asked to use an audience response system (ARS) to provide feedback on patient cases that were developed in collaboration with the faculty. These cases will cover an array of patient types and scenarios that nurses are likely to manage in real world practice. The goal of this exercise is to help nurses identify patient-specific considerations, such as aging, bleeding phenotype, or comorbid disease, that can impact therapeutic and clinical management. Attendees will be seated geographically by region, and one iPad will be assigned per table for ARS interactions, thus facilitating table discussion during the interactive case studies and Q&A session. Breakfast will be served.
