Comic books can improve quality of life and mental wellness for both adults and youth living with a bleeding disorder. Members of the community will share their personal experience about the important role comics have played as they’ve coped with obstacles and discuss how comic book storylines might be used as a framework for daily life. We’ll also demonstrate how sharing your own story as a comic can have an empowering effect on the path to acceptance, responsibility and ownership. You will gain insight into how comics can both inspire and distract when times are tough, and leave with all the materials and instructions needed to create your own comic.
