VWD and the Family

September 19, 2014
9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Consumer/New Family

During this session we will provide an overview of von Willebrand disease (VWD), and how diagnosis and treatment affect the whole family. We will share information on coping with the diagnosis, managing the disorder and specific challenges during childhood and adulthood. We will also discuss available medications and therapies for treatment and prevention of bleeding episodes. By the end of the session you will learn what to expect during the progression of VWD from infancy to adulthood; the benefits of the family working together to support each other’s health and how best to use your medical team at the hemophilia treatment center (HTC)
