During this session, the social worker will learn about the experience of the older adult with hemophilia from the personal perspective of a consumer as well as from the professional perspective of the HTC care team. The audience will gain an historical understanding of the bleeding disorders community, how events have shaped the experiences of the older adult living with hemophilia and other co-morbidities, and the medical and emotional challenges faced by the older adult with hemophilia. Finally, the audience will learn the strategies that the social worker can use in the delivery of care to effectively work with the older adult as needs continue to change and evolve.
