NHF is a member of the National Health Council (NHC) and joined its “Put Patients First,” call-in campaign on healthcare reform. NHC is an organization of patient advocacy organizations representing 133 million people with chronic diseases and disabilities. We urge members of the bleeding disorders community and their families to call Congress before Friday, August 7, 2009, and tell our elected officials that we want healthcare reform legislation passed this year that will:

• Cover everyone,
• Curb costs responsibly,
• Abolish exclusions for pre-existing conditions,
• Eliminate lifetime caps on health benefits, and
• Ensure access to long-term and end-of-life care.
