The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI), a global nonprofit organization, recently published updated guidelines for coagulation lab testing. Healthcare providers often order a variety of coagulation tests to help identify and diagnose bleeding and clotting disorders.
 
Collection, Transport, and Processing of Blood Specimens for Testing Plasma-Based Coagulation Assays and Molecular Hemostasis Assays; Approved Guideline-Fifth Edition replace the fourth edition, published in 2003. It includes revisions relevant to transportation and storage for plasma-based hemostasis testing.

CLSI is a membership-based organization that promotes the development and use of voluntary consensus standards and guidelines within the healthcare and medical testing communities.
