The National Hemophilia Foundation, in partnership with Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals and Andretti Green Racing Inc., rolled out "Racing for Hemophilia," a new fundraiser and bleeding disorders awareness campaign at the 2006 Indianapolis 500 held May 28. Bayer HealthCare donated its sponsorship space on the #26 Andretti Green Racing car, driven by third-generation Andretti race car driver, Marco Andretti. Andretti finished second in a close race.
CopyCo. Office Solutions, Inc, a Canon Office Equipment dealer in Indianapolis, was selected as the Primary Donor. The company had its logo displayed on the race car. "It is an honor to be a part of the Racing for Hemophilia Program and support Hemophilia of Indiana, our local NHF chapter," said Donn Salladay, spokesperson for CopyCo. Office Solutions, Inc.
The money raised from the campaign will help maintain programs like summer camps for children, peer support groups, medic alert IDs, educational seminars and other initiatives. "With the support of Bayer, this will help our local chapters to maintain many vital programs for people living with bleeding disorders," said Alan Kinniburgh, NHF CEO.
