With the economy spiraling downward and healthcare issues at stake, consumers have registered in droves for NHF’s Washington Days February 25-26, 2009. This annual event gathers our community for advocacy training. It prepares consumers like you to walk the halls of Congress, meet with elected officials and put actual faces on issues that affect our community.
Among the issues we will be focusing on this year are:
- Raising lifetime insurance caps
- Supporting healthcare reform
The bill on raising lifetime insurance caps is scheduled to be reintroduced in both the Senate and the House of Representatives prior to our arrival in Washington.
Although our host hotel for Washington Days is now sold out, you are still welcome to join us on the Hill. You can register through your local chapter. For more information, please contact your local chapter or Ruthlyn Noel, NHF Manager of Public Policy: 212.328.3730 or rnoel@hemophilia.org.
