Honing leadership skills is the main agenda item on the docket for the 2009 Bayer Hemophilia Leadership Development Program, an eight-week paid internship (June-August) held at Bayer HealthCare’s US Headquarters in Wayne, New Jersey.
Now in its fourth year, the internship acquaints students with the production and promotion of recombinant factor VIII product. Students tour Bayer’s manufacturing facility in Berkeley, CA, meet with public policy professionals in healthcare, and find out more about marketing and communications strategies. The internship culminates with a “personal challenge project,” using new skills gained during the course of the training program.
Candidates for the summer internship are current college sophomores, junior or seniors who have strong ties to the hemophilia community and can demonstrate a commitment to and interest in future leadership in this community.
Applications are being taken now through the deadline: Friday, February 13, 2009, 11:59 PM ET. For more information visit the Web site: www.livingbeyondhemophilia.com/internships.
