Tie up those laces and get a good stretch in because the first Hemophilia Walk of 2010 is taking place on Saturday, April 17th. The Hemophilia Foundation of Northern California will host its first Hemophilia Walk this month at the Cesar Chavez Park in Berkeley. Approximately 500 walkers are expected to participate in the fun, festive and awareness-raising event for the bleeding and clotting disorders community.
NHF chapters from coast to coast are busy gathering teams, training captains, soliciting sponsors and planning all the logistics of each walk. The national Walk initiative is a fun way to raise funds and awareness for the bleeding disorders community.
If you’ve never participated in a walk, there’s plenty of time to limber up your joints for a walk in your area. Other ways to help include sponsoring a walker or volunteering your time and talents. For more information on how you can get involved in an NHF walk in your area, visit the Walk Web site.
