The annual Kevin Child Scholarship is awarded to a qualified individual in memory of Kevin Child. As a child born with hemophilia, Kevin lived a life with many challenges from the beginning. He died of AIDS a few days before his college graduation in 1989. Because living with a bleeding disorder provides enough challenges on its own, the opportunity to obtain a higher education should never be an obstacle for anyone with hemophilia. In honor of Kevin’s legacy, the Child family hopes this scholarship will provide some assistance to an individual in acquiring a higher education.
Applicants must have a diagnosis of hemophilia A or B and must be a high school senior interested in attending an institution of higher education or a college student already pursing a post-secondary degree.
