The first Hemophilia Walk of 2010 was hosted by the Hemophilia Foundation of Northern California on Saturday, April 17, at the Cesar Chavez Park in Berkeley. Approximately 400 walkers participated in the event, raising $79,000 so far.
Other NHF chapters from coast to coast are busy gathering teams, training captains, soliciting sponsors and planning all the logistics of each walk. The national Walk initiative is a fun way to raise funds and awareness for the bleeding disorders community.
If you’ve never participated in a walk, there’s plenty of time to limber up your joints for a walk in your area. Other ways to help include sponsoring a walker or volunteering your time and talents. For more information on how you can get involved in an NHF walk in your area, visit the Hemophilia Walk Web site.
NHF would like to thank its national sponsors for their support: Baxter Healthcare, National Presenting Sponsor; Bayer, National Milestone Sponsor; Pfizer, National Supporting Sponsor; and Talecris, National Event Sponsor.
