Each year the Kevin Child Scholarships is awarded to a qualified individual in memory of Kevin Child. As a child born with hemophilia, Kevin’s life was challenging from the beginning. He died of AIDS a few days before his college graduation in 1989. Because living with a bleeding disorder provides enough challenges of its own, the opportunity to obtain a higher education should never be an obstacle. In honor of Kevin’s legacy, the Child family hopes this scholarship will provide some assistance to a qualified individual pursuing a higher education.

 

Applicants must be diagnosed with hemophilia A or B. They must be a high school senior, with aspirations of attending an institution of higher education (college, university or vocational-technical school) or a college student already pursuing a post-secondary education.
