More than 116 million Americans live with some kind of pain. During Pain Awareness Month, the American Pain Foundation (APF) wants people to join the movement to raise awareness of the need for more effective pain care. Its Web site, www.painfoundation.org, has several ways for you to get involved. APF’s newly launched campaign, “If I lived in a world with less pain I could…,” invites participants to sign up for its Facebook event or share a personal video, photograph, story or poem about what life would be like for you with less pain. It also provides tips on how to spread awareness to friends, family and co-workers of what people in pain deal with daily. Be part of the effort to urge President Obama to declare September National Pain Awareness Month.
The American Pain Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Baltimore, Maryland, that serves people in pain through information, advocacy and support.
