Each year the Kevin Child Scholarship is awarded to a qualified individual in memory of Kevin Child. As a child born with hemophilia, Kevin Child faced challenges in life from the start. He died of AIDS-related complications just a few days before his college graduation in 1989. In honor of Kevin’s legacy, the Child family continues to offer this scholarship with the hope that it provides some assistance to a qualified individual pursuing a higher education.
Scholarship applicants must be diagnosed with hemophilia A or B. They must be a high school senior, with aspirations of attending an institution of higher education (college, university or vocational-technical school), a college student already pursuing a post-secondary education or a student in a graduate-level program.
All applications must be sent to the National Hemophilia Foundation and postmarked no later than Monday, June 3, 2013. For more information and to download the 2013 Kevin Child Scholarship application, click here.
