NHF’s Benefit Gala is Tomorrow

NHF is pleased to host its annual benefit Spring Soiree on Wednesday, June 12, 2013.  This cocktail reception will be a fundraiser for NHF with 200-250 guests expected in attendance.  The Spring Soiree will be held at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City.

NHF is thrilled to pay tribute to these four honorees who have made significant contributions to the bleeding disorders community:

Founder’s Award:  Betty Jane & Robert Henry (posthumously)

This year marks the 65th Anniversary of the National Hemophilia Foundation.  The Founders Award is a special honor that will be given to the founding family of NHF--the Henry Family.  Accepting on their behalf will be Betty Jane’s brother, Fred. T. Ferguson.

Doreen McMullan McCarthy Award:  Patrick McMullan, Patrick McMullan Company

This award is named for Doreen McMullan McCarthy, who passed away when she was only 25 years old due to complications from von Willebrand disease, a bleeding disorder.  Patrick McMullan, Doreen’s brother, will be accepting the award in her memory.  This year, a $2,500 academic scholarship will be provided to a woman to continue her post-secondary education.

Leadership in Research Award:  Paul E. Monahan, MD, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

The Leadership in Research Award is given to a physician or researcher who has made critical advancements in the bleeding disorders community.

Corporate Leadership Award:  Pfizer Hemophilia

The Corporate Leadership Award was established to honor a company that has made significant contributions to the bleeding disorders community through its efforts to promote safe and healthy living, advocacy initiatives and community-building.

NHF is pleased to have as sponsors of the Spring Soiree: Pfizer Hemophilia, Novo Nordisk, Baxter Healthcare, Grifols, Biogen Idec Hemophilia, CSL Behring, Bayer HealthCare, Global Prairie, JUICE Pharma Worldwide and Lockheed Martin.
