The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) presents “What’s So Bloody Funny?” a special evening of comedy at the Highline Ballroom in NYC on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Hosted by actress, writer, producer and comedienne Alex Borstein (FOX's Family Guy's "Lois Griffin," star of HBO's new series "Getting On" and Ms. Swan on FOX's MADtv), the fundraiser includes a lineup of comedians, costume contest, raffle drawings, DJ and dancing. Costume attire for the Halloween-themed evening of fun is encouraged, but not required.
“NHF is important and special to me, having grown up watching my brother and uncle traverse myriad hardships, pains and losses as members of the bleeding disorders community,” says Borstein, a national spokesperson for NHF and a carrier of hemophilia. “My hope is to help raise funds for NHF, to provide support for those affected, to improve treatments, and help raise awareness about bleeding disorders.”
All proceeds from the event will benefit NHF in its efforts to find better treatments and cures for inheritable bleeding disorders and to preventing the complications of these disorders through education, advocacy and research.
