Racing for Hemophilia Fundraising in Full Swing

Bayer HealthCare, the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF), and Andretti Green Racing have entered into a partnership to create a unique fundraising program, Racing for Hemophilia. Since the launch of the program over two months ago, a number of NHF chapters have used the program to reach out to new and existing donors for additional support. The top fundraising chapter is Hemophilia of Indiana, with $6,500 raised thus far.

Donors who contribute $1,500 or more to NHF or one of its local chapters may be eligible to be selected as the primary donor of Racing for Hemophilia. For details on how to be considered as the primary donor, visit

Bayer HealthCare will provide use of its sponsor space on the #26 Andretti Green Racing car, driven by rookie Marco Andretti of the famed Andretti family, to the primary donor during the 90th Indy 500 on May 28, 2006, where the car will receive widespread exposure. More than 400,000 fans attend the Indy 500, which is broadcast in 12 languages in 150 territories, making it the largest single-day sporting event in the world. In addition to the space on the #26 car, the primary donor will also receive a VIP trip for two to the 2006 Indy 500 as the guest of NHF and Andretti Green Racing.

There is still time to participate. To be considered for the opportunity to be the primary donor, you must make your donation and correctly answer five trivia questions listed on the Racing for Hemophilia Web site by May 6, 2006. However, donations will be accepted throughout the year. There may be additional opportunities to be a primary donor on the #26 car during a race in your local area. For the schedule of races, visit
