First-time attendees to the National Hemophilia Foundation’s (NHF) 58th Annual Meeting on October 12-14, 2006 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown are eligible for travel grant scholarships. These scholarships enable people who want to attend the event, but cannot afford it, the benefit of a broad range of information. The Annual Meeting, whose theme this year is “Opening New Doors,” features leading experts who provide workshops on the latest treatments and technologies to help you find answers to your questions about bleeding and clotting disorders. It is also a gathering place to network with other people in the community.
Eligibility is based on a number of factors, including financial need. NHF is interested in broadening the diversity of the audience at its Annual Meetings by including families and individuals who have never attended. The scholarships cover the cost of any of the following: airfare, hotel, per diem expenses and incidental expenses. Applicants can apply for grants in one or more of these categories, up to four nights and five days. The applications are available at the NHF Web site. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, July 7, 2006.
