The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) will hold a second On the Road regional program, focusing on emergency preparedness and prevention, in Denver, CO, on June 23-24, 2006. The first On the Road was held in Minneapolis, MN, April 28-29, and was co-hosted by the Hemophilia Foundation of Minnesota and the Dakotas.
Consumers attending the On the Road in Denver will learn daily readiness tips, participate in rap sessions, and meet in groups to develop emergency action plans. In addition, they will receive the latest updates on NHF news and public policy issues. Healthcare providers will participate in a one-day seminar on “Important Issues in Thrombophilia and Thrombosis.” The First Step Train-the-Trainer program will add seven new teams, composed of parents and HTC and Chapter/Association representatives, to serve their local communities. Everyone who participates will go home with an NHF “Go Bag,” an insulated backpack filled with emergency supplies and information.
On the Road in Denver is co-hosted by the Hemophilia Society of Colorado. For more information, visit the NHF On the Road Web site or contact Jennifer Crawford, Education Manager: jcrawford@hemophilia.org or 212.328.3738.
