In conjunction with Hemophilia Awareness Month in March, the National Hemophilia Foundation is kicking off two fundraising campaigns. Dress Down for Genes is a program for companies to designate Tuesday, March 20, 2007, as “Dress Down for Genes” day for participating employees who donate $10 to NHF. By wearing jeans and their Hemophilia Awareness Month ribbon (supplied by NHF) to the office that day, employees will help raise awareness about hemophilia and other bleeding and clotting disorders.
Celebrity Blue Jeans for Genes is an online auction of autographed blue jeans donated by the hottest stars of film, music, TV and pop culture. Some of the dozens of celebrities who have donated their jeans to the 2007 auction are: Orlando Bloom, Penelope Cruz, Lindsay Lohan, Martina McBride, Sam Waterston and Reese Witherspoon. The 10-day eBay auction runs from March 20-30, 2007. All winning bids benefit NHF.
