The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) hosted its second annual insurance/reimbursement workshop for social workers May 4-5, 2007, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This year’s symposium— “Social Work Insurance Counseling and Critical Changes in Coverage of Factor Product and Care”—examined changes in specialty pharmacies, insurance networks and contracting. It provided attendees with the necessary tools to deliver insurance counseling services to their patients. During the two-day workshop, 37 social workers and four hemophilia treatment center administrators were trained, many of whom received continuing education credits (CEUs) from the National Association of Social Workers.
The workshop was made possible through an educational grant from Baxter.
