On September 24, 2007, the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) in Montreal, Canada, announced the appointment of Claudia Black as Interim Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director. Black succeeds Miklos Fulop.
Black has been with WFH since 1996. From 1999-2005, she served as Director of Programs, overseeing WFH’s country development programs, such as the Global Alliance for Progress project, International Hemophilia Training Center (IHTC) Fellowships and Twinning. In 2006, she took on an additional role, as Deputy Executive Director, managing WFH’s Medical Advisory Board and several committees.
Black has more than 20 years’ experience working with various organizations in international development. She received her bachelor of art’s degree in psychology from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and holds a graduate degree in management from the University of Ottawa.
