More than 100 stars of movie, music, TV and pop culture helped the National Hemophilia Foundation raise funds by donating autographed jeans to the 3rd annual Celebrity Blue Jeans For Genes Auction on eBay.
Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Arnold Schwarzenegger and many others donated their designer denims, and people from across the country (and across the world) bid on then. Tom Welling, the perfect, young Clark Kent on the WB’s Smallville was the top seller, with folks lining up to pay nearly $2,000 for his jeans. Also very popular was Broadway song-and-dance man, and X-Men super-hunk, Hugh Jackman whose jeans brought in over a grand.
The kick off to the Celebrity Blue Jeans For Genes Auction was A Night of Jeans and Gems, held at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. More than 300 people came to see a preview of the celebrity-autographed jeans and to participate in an auction of fine jewelry donated by top designers such as David Yurman, Judith Ripka, SeidenGang, Aaron Basha, Robert Lee Morris, Geri Cohen, Mikol & Company and many others.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were honorary Co-Chairs of A Night of jeans and Gems and celebrity photographer Patrick McMullan served as an Event Co-Chair.
These two fun and exciting events provided the National Hemophilia Foundation with great opportunities to raise funds and awareness to assist us in our efforts to find better treatments and cures for people with bleeding and clotting disorders.
We hope to see you at next years event!
