National Hemophilia Foundation's 65th Annual Meeting, Anaheim, CA

NHF is pleased to announce a Call for Research Poster Abstracts for our 65th Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida from October 3-5, 2013.

NHF is seeking to showcase important research currently being conducted by physicians, researchers, nurses, physical therapists, social workers and other healthcare professionals in the field of bleeding and clotting disorders.  We encourage all members of the community to submit poster abstracts in the following categories:

  • Biomedical/Coagulation Research
  • Clinical Research
  • Orthopedic/Therapeutic Modalities
  • Sociomedical/Psychosocial Issues
  • Collaboration/Team Models
  • Peer Support/Outreach/Integration Models
  • Law/Ethics/Health Policy
  • Women’s Research
  • Available Clinical Trials

The deadline for submission is Friday June 21, 2013. All abstracts need to be submitted online. Click here to learn how to submit your abstract online.

The benefits of submitting a research poster abstract are:

  • The authors of the highest-rated abstracts will be invited to make an oral presentation of their research at a special educational session of NHF’s 65th Annual Meeting Medical Track for Physicians and Researchers on Friday, October 4, 2013, in Anaheim, CA.
  • All approved poster abstracts will be distributed to registered attendees of NHF’s 65th Annual Meeting.  The NHF Annual Meeting is routinely attended by more than 2,300 people, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, industry representatives, consumers and families.
  • Research poster abstracts will be prominently displayed during NHF’s 65th Annual Meeting in Anaheim, CA.  NHF will also be hosting a Research Posters Reception on Friday evening, October 4, 2013. This annual reception provides an opportunity for abstract authors and attendees to interact and network with each other.

General Instructions for Submitting Your Research Poster Abstract Online:

  1. Register
    If you have not yet made a poster abstract submission to NHF’s 65th Annual Meeting, you must first register your details with the Oxford Abstracts submission system.
  2. Prepare Abstract
    After registering, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with your login details and submission instructions. YOU MUST USE THE TEMPLATE ATTACHED IN THIS E-MAIL TO PREPARE YOUR POSTER ABSTRACT. Please adhere to the outline, content and formatting guidelines within this template:

All abstracts must be formatted as follows (please be as specific and thorough as possible in each instance)

o    Objective

o    Methods

o    Summary (of results obtained)

o    Conclusions (It will not be sufficient to state – “results forthcoming”)

  1. Submit Abstract Online
    After preparing your abstract using the template provided, please save it on your computer. Then, log back into the system (submission link will be provided in the confirmation e-mail) and complete your submission.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • You will be able to make multiple submissions, append an existing submission or finish the submission at a later time.
  • Please be sure to submit your abstract by midnight Eastern Time, Friday, June 21, 2013.  Alterations or revisions may be made up until this date.
  • Individuals who submit abstracts will be notified in July 2013 about the decisions made by NHF’s review committee.
