To better align itself with its Melbourne, Australia-based parent company CSL Limited, ZLB Behring is changing its name to CSL Behring. The change is worldwide, affecting up to 30 products in about 70 countries. The renaming is being phased in over the course of several months. CSL Behring is already registered in Canada, Germany, Switzerland and the United States. Progress on the global name change was announced on January 8, 2007.
CSL Behring, which is based in King of Prussia, PA, has also affirmed that the quality, type and volume of its pharmaceutical products will not be affected by the change. The company manufactures several products that are used to treat patients with bleeding disorders.
“The Behring part of our name originates with Emil von Behring, an innovator with serum therapies who won the first Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine. We have changed our name, but remain strongly committed to the company values of innovation, safety and passion for our customers that we are known for,” said Peter Turner, President of CSL Behring.
