MASAC recognizes that there is a dearth of new physicians exiting training programs with clinical and research competency in hemostasis and thrombosis. To address this critical manpower shortage, MASAC proposes that NHF evaluate the use of educational funds to support a mentored educational program for fellows in hematology as part of the annual NHF meeting. Such support should include travel, lodging, and meals in addition to program costs.
