NATIONAL
HEMOPHILIA FOUNDATION
The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF), founded in 1948,
is dedicated to finding the cures for bleeding disorders
and to preventing and treating the complications of these
disorders through education, advocacy and research.
WHO WILL ATTEND?
More than 2,000 people attend, including consumers, healthcare
providers and industry representatives.
Providers: physicians,
nurses, social workers and physical therapists. Industry: representatives from leading pharmaceutical
companies, homecare companies and nonprofit organizations.
Consumers: adults and children with hemophilia, von Willebrand
disease and other bleeding disorders, family members
and/or significant others.

Prevention Program:
- Get an annual comprehensive checkup at a hemophilia
treatment center.
- Get vaccinated—hepatitis A and B are preventable.
- Treat bleeds early and adequately.
- Exercise to protect your joints.
- Get tested regularly for blood-borne infections.
- To see your children learn while having fun by
signing them up for the Youth & Adolescent
program (ages 4 to 17).
- To focus on key issues that affect
you, ie, women’s issues, thrombosis,
HCV, genetics, inhibitors, new products, ethics and much more.

of Annual Meetings!
REGISTRATION/GENERAL
INFORMATION
All on-site registrations will be assessed the regular on-site registration
fee. All attendees MUST be registered in order to receive a badge for entry
to all sessions, exhibits and events. The registration desk is located at
Landmark Circle (in front of the Landmark Ballroom) on the lobby level of
the Hyatt Regency at Reunion.

NHF has advised the local medical center of our group’s arrival to help
facilitate any treatment that may be needed.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY (top)
The Hyatt Regency at Reunion is wheelchair-accessible. We have reserved all
available wheelchair-accessible sleeping rooms on a first-come, first-served
basis. If
you require a special room or have any other special needs, please call the
Hyatt Regency at Reunion directly. Note: The hotel does not provide wheelchairs.

NO SMOKING POLICY (top)
NHF’s Annual Meeting adheres to the hotel’s strict no-smoking
policy in meeting rooms and the lobby area.
ATTIRE (top)
Casual or business attire is appropriate for attending all events at the meeting.
Note: The temperature in the hotel’s meeting rooms may vary—a sweater
or light jacket is suggested. The average high in Dallas in early November
is 70°F, with an evening low of 50°F.
TREATMENT SUITE/SHARPS DISPOSAL (top)
NHF will not provide a treatment suite or sharps containers during the annual
meeting.
CHILDCARE (top)
Childcare is scheduled from 7am-5pm on Friday, November 5 and Saturday, November
6. There is no onsite registration for this program. See Youth
and Adolescent Program Section for details.

Continuing education credits (top)
Applications for Continuing Medical Education credits (CME) and Continuing Education
Units (CEU) and a list of approved sessions are available at the Annual Meeting.
The processing fee, required for all CME and CEU credits, has now been incorporated
into the provider/industry registration price. CME credits are available through
joint sponsorship with The University of Wisconsin, Medical School, Office
of CME. CEU credits are available through joint sponsorship with the American
Association of Critical Care Nurses and National Association of Social Workers.
Applications and evaluation
forms, which are required in order to receive CME/CEU credits, are available
at the CME/CEU table next to NHF's Registration at Landmark Circle on the lobby
level of the Hyatt Regency at Reunion.
Note: Evaluations forms for each credited session must be
completed and submitted to NHF on site in Dallas in order to receive CEU/CME
credits.
FULL DISCLOSURE STATEMENT (top)
All faculty participating in continuing medical education activities are expected
to disclose to the program audience any real or apparent conflict(s) of interest
related to the content of their presentation(s). Full disclosure of faculty
relationships will be made at the activity.
TAPING OF SESSIONS (top)
All educational sessions will be recorded and available for sale at the NHF Annual
Meeting and on the NHF Web site after the Annual Meeting. Order forms will
be available onsite.

EXHIBITS (top)
The Marsalis Hall at the Hyatt Regency at Reunion will feature the latest products
and services offered to the bleeding disorders community. Visit the Exhibit
Hall to speak one-on-one with product manufacturers, service organizations,
publishers and nonprofit groups.

POSTER SESSIONS (top)
Poster displays offer attendees the opportunity to read about current research
and programming activities being conducted throughout the bleeding disorders
community on such topics as hemophilia, HIV/AIDS and other bleeding disorders.
Posters will be on display in the exhibit hall during all exhibit hours. It
should be noted that some abstracts among those accepted will be published
in a HemAware magazine supplement, which is distributed at the Annual Meeting.
The top posters will appear in Haemophilia, the World Federation of Hemophilia’s
international journal.
QUILT DISPLAY (top)
The NHF quilt display is a positive and creative universal symbol. By uniting
the community through human connections, these quilts symbolize feelings of
hope, grief, joy, anger, pain and a determination to link together people affected
by HIV/AIDS. The quilts will be displayed in the Marsalis Hall during all exhibit
hours.
Celebration, REMEMBRANCE AND LEAF MAKING (top)
The Ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, November 5, 2004,
from 6:45PM to 7:45PM in Landmark Ballroom A (subject to change). Leaves can
be inscribed with the name of a loved one or with an individual’s wish
for the future of the community. These will be read at the ceremony.
Leaf-making will be available in the Kessler Room (subject to change), with
all materials provided on:
