The abstract submissions are only accepted online. The deadline

by 11:59pm.
We are pleased to announce that the World Federation of Hemophilia
has once again graciously offered to publish a number of our
highest-rated abstracts in a future issue of Haemophilia.
This will provide a wider exposure in a citable journal for
some abstracts presented at NHF’s Annual Meeting. Haemophilia
requires a signed Blackwell Publishing Copyright Form from
each of the authors or lead authors; otherwise abstracts cannot
be submitted to Haemophilia for review or publication. The
form can be retrieved from the online Poster Abstract submission
form. The number of accepted abstracts will also be published
in HemAware’s Poster Abstracts Booklet.
Poster abstract submission can only be done online. The online
abstract submission provides an electronic review system,
allows designation of lead author versus additional author
and will alert the submitter of incomplete submissions.
Please consider submitting your work as an abstract. Among
reasons to do so are:
- this year’s Annual Meeting will be very exciting
and informative
- abstracts from among those accepted will be published
in HemAware Poster Abstracts booklet
- top abstracts will be published in the international journal,
Haemophilia
As in past years, authors of abstracts accepted for the Annual
Meeting will be expected to discuss their abstracts on Friday,
October 28, 2005 at 1PM during the Poster Session.
Instructions for submitting abstracts:
- Please follow the submission steps, being sure to check
the appropriate box for the subject area of the abstract.
- The abstract should be as thorough as possible, including:
- specific objective of the study
methods used, if pertinent
summary of results obtained
conclusions reached (it is not sufficient to state: “results
forthcoming”)
- Include all authors and their affiliations. The presenting/lead
author’s name should be listed at the top.
- Type carefully—single space, with an extra space
between the authors/affiliations section and the text
Lead authors of Poster Abstracts will be notified of acceptance
by late August.
Please be sure to submit your abstract by the deadline: Monday,
July 18, 2005. Abstracts will not be accepted after the deadline.
Abstract selection policy:
The listing of professional affiliations and any other pertinent
affiliation is necessary for the review process because the
members of the review committee will not review abstracts
from his/her own institution.
Abstracts can be submitted for the following categories:
- Adolescent
- Clinical Research
- Collaboration/Team Models
- Financial Issues/Reimbursement
- Outreach-Integration
- Peer Support Models
- Psychosocial Issues in Hemophilia
- Women’s Issues
