NHF’s 55th Annual Meeting

Nearly 1,800 consumers, healthcare providers and industry representatives attended NHF's 55th Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City from November 6 to 8, 2003. This year's theme was "Many Stories, One Voice," which reflects the need for advocacy in the bleeding disorders community. The community's greatest strength comes from an ability to come together, and speak with one, strong, united voice. The theme also reveals that behind that voice, there are many people, each with unique interests, each with something unique to contribute.

One of the biggest events during the conference was the launch of NHF's online inhibitor community, sponsored by Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals. The site, designed to promote education and a sense of community among patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals, will enable people affected by inhibitors to network with other people who have similar needs and concerns. As part of the launch, for people who weren't able to attend the meeting, a session called "Inhibitors-Ports and Prophylaxis" was aired via the Web.

On Saturday, November 8, the NHF Board of Directors held an awards luncheon to honor members of the community.
