To assist you and your family with your health insurance coverage decision, NHF has updated the popular Personal Health Insurance Toolkit.  Confused by complicated healthcare terms and acronyms? This version includes an updated glossary and a handy list of commonly used acronyms. In addition, the toolkit has new and revised fact sheets about healthcare reform, including the individual mandate requirements, coverage available through the marketplace (metal tiers), subsidies and tax credits, and consumer assistance programs. A helpful fact sheet guides you through the appeals and grievance process.

The Personal Health Experience Stat Sheet allows you to record your and your family’s annual healthcare expenses, helping to identify important coverage needs.  Further, you can compare the cost of various health plan options as they relate to your specific needs using the Health Plan Cost Comparison Worksheet.

These are just a few of the resources included in the toolkit, which you can access here. Further, NHF’s public policy team is currently working on even more resources, which will be posted when they become available.

NHF’s public policy team is here to help. If you would like to host a local interactive workshop led by a member of NHF’s public policy team, please contact NHF Public Policy Analyst Marla Feinstein: mfeinstein@hemophilia.org or 212.328.3734.
