Apply Today for the 2018 Kevin Child Scholarship!
HANDI is pleased to announce that applications for this year’s Kevin Child Scholarship (KCS) are now being accepted. The deadline has been set for Thursday, June 21, 2018. The KCS is open to an individual diagnosed with either hemophilia A or B, who is also either: a high school senior with aspirations to attend an institution of higher education (college, university or vocational-technical school), or a college student already pursuing a post-secondary education. All applicants will need to submit a personal essay, a letter of recommendation and their official school transcript. The selected KCS recipient will receive an award of $1,000 toward their tuition costs.
This scholarship was established in honor of Kevin Child, an exceptional young man with hemophilia who passed away just a few days short of his college graduation. In honor of Kevin’s legacy, the Child family has continued to provide this scholarship in the hopes that it will offer some assistance to other students striving to acquire a higher education.

HANDI would like to emphasize that the scholarship offerings listed on the hemophilia.org website are not funded or administered by NHF. Several scholarships are only open to students affected with hemophilia. Some other scholarships are open to students with other bleeding disorders and a few may broadly accept applications from siblings or possibly other family members. Please read the scholarship program descriptions carefully and check the weblinks (or call the primary contacts found under each scholarship) to obtain specifics on their program terms or their eventual award selections.
