Kaitlyn Wade graduated from University of Pittsburgh in April 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Neuroscience. She is currently a first-year medical student at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. After watching her sister struggle with a diagnosis of Von Willebrand Disease in her teen years, Kaitlyn hopes to foster relationships between the military healthcare system and the civilian community in order to ensure soldiers and their families are aware of the resources available to their children with bleeding disorders. When she is not studying for a midterm or slaving away in the anatomy lab, Kaitlyn volunteers at Camp Warren Jyrch as a camp counselor, explores the hundreds of museums Washington, D.C. has to offer, sings country music way too loud, and roots for the Chicago Cubs.
