Houston Astro Michael Brantley designated the National Hemophilia Foundation as the recipient of $20,000 given by the Major League Baseball Player’s Trust. Brantley was voted by his peers as the Comeback Player of the Year, American League, for the 2018 season, when he played with the Cleveland Indians.
Brantley began his professional baseball career with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2005. He was traded to the Cleveland Indians in 2008, where he made his major league debut. During his time in Cleveland, hit a career-high 20 home runs, won a Silver Slugger Award, and was a member of the 2018 MLB American League All-Star team. In 2018, he signed a two-year contract with the Houston Astros.
