The event was arranged by Novo Nordisk and coordinated in part by Melissa Penn (in red dress next to the Princess), president of the New York City Hemophilia Chapter.

NHF was honored to have the opportunity to meet Mary Elizabeth, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess of Denmark, on March 11, 2014, in New York City at an event arranged by Novo Nordisk.  Val D. Bias, NHF CEO; Eddie Williams, senior vice president of biopharmaceuticals at Novo Nordisk; and Jarl Frijs-Madsen, Consul General of Denmark in New York, Ambassador, all delivered remarks to welcome the Princess and celebrate the strong NHF-Novo Nordisk partnership.  After these introductory remarks, families affected by bleeding disorders from the New York City area were presented to the Crown princess, who has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to furthering advancements in public health in Denmark and around the world.

NHF would like to thank Novo Nordisk for this opportunity.

Special thanks, also, to Glenn Mones, executive director, and Melissa Penn, president, of the New York City Hemophilia Chapter, for making this such a special event for these NYC area families.
