The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) is pleased to offer Connections for Learning Grants for those who want to attend its 69th Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, August 24-26, 2017.
NHF’s Annual Meeting enables the bleeding disorders community to come together and exchange information on a wide variety of topics, from the basics of hemophilia and von Willebrand disease to the latest research breakthroughs and new drug therapies. Further, the three-day conference provides the premier opportunity for networking and support for individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders.
NHF has committed to providing funding to a number of families who want to attend its Annual Meeting. There, they can take advantage of the wealth of information and educational opportunities, and get to know other families coping with a bleeding disorder.
Eligibility: To provide a more inclusive Annual Meeting, NHF offers a limited number of Connections for Learning Grants to individuals and/or families with bleeding disorders who wish to attend the Annual Meeting for the first time or to returning families. While any returning individuals/families are welcome to apply, preference is given to those who have not been able to attend in many years. NHF would especially like to provide assistance to those unable to attend due to personal obstacles or other barriers. Awards will be based on these factors and on need.
Restrictions: NHF STAFF, BOARD MEMBERS AND CHAPTER STAFF ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY. TO BE ELIGIBLE, APPLICANTS MUST RESIDE IN THE UNITED STATES OR ITS TERRITORIES.
What the Connections for Learning Grant Covers: The grant may be used to cover among the following (ONLY the type of assistance that you TRULY need):
- Airfare
- Driving (Mileage – if you do not fly) *
- Hotel
- Childcare
*Please note: Ground transportation to and from the airport, and parking at your local airport are not covered by NHF.
** Approved applicants automatically will receive registration
Applicants may apply for grants in one or more of these categories, for a maximum of three nights and four days.

BECAS DE CONEXIONES PARA EL APRENDIZAJE – 69ª REUNIÓN ANUAL DE NHF
La Fundación Nacional de Hemofilia (NHF, por sus siglas en inglés) se complace en ofrecer las Beca de Conexiones para el Aprendizaje a quienes deseen asistir a la 69ª Reunión Anual en Chicago, IL del 24 al 26 de agosto de 2017.
La Reunión Anual de NHF le permite a la comunidad con trastornos hemorrágicos reunirse y compartir información en una variedad de temas, que van desde información básica sobre hemofilia y enfermedad de von Willebrand hasta los últimos avances en investigación y medicamentos. Además, la conferencia de tres días brinda una oportunidad única para la creación de redes y recibir apoyo de personas y familias afectadas por trastornos hemorrágicos.
NHF se ha comprometido a proporcionar financiación a un número de familias que deseen asistir a la Reunión Anual. En la Reunión, podrán tomar ventaja de toda la variedad de información y oportunidades educativas y llegar a conocer otras familias que hacen frente a trastornos hemorrágicos.
Elegibilidad: para brindar una Reunión Anual más inclusiva, NFH ofrece un número limitado de Becas de Conexiones para el Aprendizaje a personas y/o familias con trastornos hemorrágicos que deseen asistir a la Reunión Anual por primera vez o familias que regresan. Aunque las familias/personas que regresan son bienvenidas para aplicar, se dará preferencia a quienes no hayan podido asistir en muchos años. NHF brindará especial asistencia a quienes no puedan asistir debido a obstáculos personales u otras barreras. Los ganadores se elegirán con base en estos factores, y de acuerdo a la necesidad

Qué cubre la Beca de Conexiones para el Aprendizaje: La beca se puede usar para cubrir entre los siguientes (SÓLO el tipo de asistencia que usted REALMENTE necesite):
- Tiquete aéreo
- Transporte terrestre (millaje – si no viaja en avión) *
- Hotel
- Programa de cuidado de niños
*Tenga en cuenta que NHF no cubre el transporte terrestre desde y hacia el aeropuerto y el parqueo en su aeropuerto local.
** Las personas seleccionadas recibirán automáticamente la inscripción a la reunión.
