Any undergraduate student with Hemophilia, Von Willebrand disease, or a related inherited bleeding disorder is eligible to apply for the Beth Carew Memorial Scholarship.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be a United States citizen or legally living permanently in the United States.
- Applicants must be diagnosed with an inherited bleeding disorder. Students who do not have an inherited bleeding disorder but whose parent(s) or sibling(s) have an inherited bleeding disorder are not eligible to apply, even though they are affected by an inherited bleeding disorder.
- Applicants must have volunteered time and energy to directly benefit the bleeding disorders community. While general volunteerism is undeniably valuable and should be noted, applicants must document volunteer activities specifically within the bleeding disorders community in order to be considered for this scholarship. Regardless of any legitimate barriers to one's ability to accomplish volunteerism within the bleeding disorders community, applicants should not apply if they cannot fulfill this requirement.
- Applicants must be entering or attending an accredited 2-year or 4-year undergraduate institution in the United States to obtain their first undergraduate degree. High school seniors, undergraduate freshmen, undergraduate sophomores, and undergraduate juniors may apply. Students who are pursuing or resuming an undergraduate degree later in adulthood may apply even if there was a gap in their academic career.
- Applicants who are past recipients of the Beth Carew Memorial Scholarship may reapply throughout their undergraduate career.
This scholarship was created to honor the memory of Eric Dostie and will be awarded to a student who can best demonstrate scholastic achievement, community service, and financial need. Applicants must submit an essay describing how his or her education will be used to serve humankind and to encourage self-improvement and enrichment.
Eligibility
- Either have hemophilia or von Willebrand disease or be an immediate family member (parent, spouse, sibling, or child) of a person with hemophilia or von Willebrand disease
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Enrolled full-time in an accredited two- or four-year college program in the U.S
- Current minimum GPA of 2.5
Brothers Healthcare is committed to supporting members of the bleeding disorders community in their goals for higher education. They offer a scholarship program to be awarded to one male and one female student who has a bleeding disorder like hemophilia or von Willebrand disease.
The awards committee oversees the scholarship program. The award selection is based on a number of criteria including but not limited to academic merit, narrative, reference letters, and impact on the bleeding disorder community.
Eligibility
- Attend an accredited technical school, college, or university in the fall of 2021
- Have a diagnosed bleeding disorder, OR be a parent, spouse, partner, child, or sibling of a person with a bleeding disorder.
- Have a GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale and submit a report card or transcript (certified not required),
The #RAREis Scholarship Fund was established in 2020 to help young adults with rare diseases to pursue their dreams through education. Thanks to the support of the #RAREis program by Horizon Therapeutics. The EveryLife Foundation is pleased to announce its third year of the #RAREis Scholarship Fund, a scholarship dedicated to the rare disease community.
Applicants to the #RAREis Scholarship Fund must be:
- U.S. residents who have been diagnosed* by a physician as having any form of rare disease regardless of treatment status. Applicants will be asked to provide a Diagnosis Verification Form provided by a physician verifying diagnosis.
- Currently enrolled or planning to enroll full-time or part-time** in undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical/trade school for the Fall 2022 semester.
- 17 years old or older (no upper age limit, veterans and non-traditional students are encouraged.)

This scholarship was formed to provide awareness of chronic disorders to the public and to stimulate, foster, and encourage interest, awareness, and activism at the state and national level with reference to the fight against chronic disorders.

- Applicants must be diagnosed with a bleeding disorder or other chronic disorder.
- Applicants MUST be Graduating from High School in the year of the Scholarship Award.
- Applicants must have applied to, been accepted at, an accredited college or university.
The InfuCare Rx Scholarship Program has been providing scholarship opportunities to students since 2015. Over the past six years, InfuCare Rx has awarded over $50,000.00 to students in need across the nation.
Eligibility:
- Someone seeking higher education who has been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder, including hemophilia A/B (and symptomatic carriers), von Willebrand Disease (vWD), or rare factor deficiencies
- Someone who is a resident of the U.S.
- Someone who is already accepted to a college/university
- Someone with a GPA of 3.5 or higher in their previous year of study (unless you are in a doctoral program with Pass/Fail programs, in which case you will have the ability to indicate so on your submission)

- Someone looking to make an impact in this world
Now in its 23rd year, the Soozie Courter Hemophilia Scholarship Program is designed to inspire students living with hemophilia to achieve their educational goals.
Scholarships will be awarded to applicants with hemophilia A or hemophilia B who present the best combination of a creative and persuasive essay, excellent recommendations, and superior academic standing.
Eligibility
- Have been diagnosed with hemophilia A or hemophilia B
- Reside in the continental U.S
- Meet one of the following:
- A high school senior or graduate student in a school in the U.S.
- Completed high school or an equivalent (e.g., general equivalency diploma [GED])
- Currently accepted to or enrolled in a junior college, college (undergraduate or graduate), or vocational school
This scholarship program is funded by Optum Infusion Pharmacy and administered by Hemophilia of North Carolina. Applicants are not required to be - nor is any preference given to - residents of North Carolina.
Eligibility
- Intended for persons affected by a bleeding disorder, including anyone who has been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder; or is a caregiver of a child or adult affected by a bleeding disorder; or has a sibling or parent in the same household affected by a bleeding disorder.
- Must be seeking education from an accredited college, university, or certified training program. At least one award will be made to an applicant pursuing education in a health-related field.
This scholarship program is funded by and administered by Hemophilia of North Carolina. Applicants are not required to be - nor will any preference be given to - residents of North Carolina.

Special Note: Anyone who has been diagnosed with severe hemophilia A and who has submitted an application for either the George D. McCoy Scholarship or the Diplomat Specialty Infusion Group / Hemophilia of North Carolina Education Scholarship will be considered for both scholarships. It is not necessary to apply to both scholarship programs.
This scholarship honors the memory and giving spirit of Nate Slack. Nate was very much about helping others and making this world a better place. His work with others in the bleeding disorder community was outstanding.

Eligibility
- Any individual who has been diagnosed with hemophilia or other significant bleeding disorder. Evidence of this diagnosis must be provided by your clinician or HTC.
- Any individual whose immediate family member is attached to the hemophilia/bleeding disorder community. Evidence of this diagnosis must be provided by your clinician or HTC.

- May or may not have a bleeding disorder themselves
- Seeking a post-secondary education from a college, university or trade school
Medical/Healthcare Services Educational Scholarship
One (1) scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $4,000.00 to a student pursuing a degree in the medical/healthcare services field. We have noticed over the years that many of our students in the bleeding disorders community are studying for a career in the medical field. Because we know how costly this can be, we created this scholarship specifically for those students to help further their goals.
Eligibility Requirements:
- A person with a bleeding disorder or related to someone with a bleeding disorder
- Must be pursuing a degree in the medical/healthcare services field
Each year, the Kevin Child Scholarship is awarded to an exceptional student in memory of Kevin Child. As a child born with hemophilia in the late 1960s, Kevin had lived a life filled with challenges from the start. When he died of AIDS-related complications in 1989, he was just a few days short of his college graduation. In honor of Kevin's legacy, the Child family hopes this scholarship program will provide some assistance for students striving to acquire a higher education. The Coalition for Hemophilia B established the William N. Drohan Scholarship Fund to offer scholarships to students with hemophilia B and their siblings.
The scholarship was formed in memory of Dr. William N. Drohan, who passed away in February 2007. Dr. Drohan was a well-known microbiologist and educator who is remembered for his many contributions to science. He also served as a member of the board of the Coalition for Hemophilia B and was instrumental in their creation.
Eligibility
- Applicants must have hemophilia B or be a sibling of a person with hemophilia B
- Applicants must have a need for funds
- Applicants must have applied to, been accepted at, an accredited college or university or a vocational school
Eligible students can apply for one of five $4000 4-year college scholarships or ten $2500 community or vocational scholarships. Please note: information is available online, but students are/or their parents (if the individual is not over 18 years old) must register and set up a profile in NovoSecure to access the scholarship application.
The application and essays are reviewed by scholarship managers and an independent third party. Scholarships will be awarded in the summer to the top applicants in each category and the payment will be made directly to the school the successful applicant is attending.
People with hemophilia A, hemophilia A or B with inhibitors, congenital factor VII deficiency, congenital factor XIII deficiency, acquired hemophilia, and Glanzmann's thrombasthenia are eligible to apply.
