Having hemophilia and other bleeding disorders can mean coping with various complications that can arise throughout the patient’s lifetime. For some patients, the immune system produces antibodies that “inhibit” clot formation. The presence of an inhibitor makes treating bleeds more difficult.
The National Bleeding Disorders Foundation offers several resources for families affected by inhibitors. These resources include educational events that provide meaningful community support; downloadable/printable publications and brochures; informative webinars to watch on-demand; live in-person workshops hosted by our chapter network; and referrals to websites that provide more detailed information for patients and families.
When you live with an inhibitor, you and your family have questions and concerns that deserve special attention. NHF’s Educational opportunities will provide just that – quality education and meaningful community support.
Inhibitor education will return next year in-person at BDC 2023!
The Bleeding Disorders Conference will take place from August 17th-19th, 2023, in National Harbor, Maryland. Individuals with hemophilia A or B with an active or tolerized inhibitor or support a person with one, are invited to apply for the 2023 Inhibitor Education Travel Grant.
The Bleeding Disorders Conference enables communities to come together, network, learn and exchange information.
BDC 2023 will include an Inhibitor Precon including topics ranging from the basics of inhibitors to the newest research and treatment options. We also offer networking opportunities beyond inhibitor education and with multiple days of high quality and engaging educational sessions applicable to everyone in the bleeding disorders community. You will also find opportunities to help you connect with others who are walking on a similar path and explore the exhibit hall filled with resources for you and your loved ones.
Please note, this program is offered in English and Spanish.
