In 2013, for the first time, the Kevin Child Scholarship was awarded to two brothers with severe hemophilia A - Raphael Forbes was a sophomore at Whittier College double majoring in biology and art at the time of receiving the KCS. Raphael’s goals were to further his education through graduate medical studies in the hopes of becoming a cardiovascular surgeon.
