Giving Tuesday steps into November with a brand-new sneaker (The National Bleeding Disorders Foundation Version)

November 08, 2023

NEW YORK – This Giving Tuesday, November 28, the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation (NBDF), formerly known as the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF), is Stepping into the Future to provide resources for the inheritable blood and bleeding disorders community. This initiative, made possible by Takeda Pharmaceuticals, raises awareness and support for the inheritable blood and bleeding disorders community. The 2023 theme, Stepping into the Future, symbolizes the collective journey toward progress and change, especially as the foundation begins a new era with its rebranding.

The foundation wants to continue to take intentional steps to create a better tomorrow. The NBDF embraces innovation with evolving mindsets, and actively engaging in initiatives that pave the way for a brighter and more inclusive future for everyone with inheritable blood and bleeding disorders.

“Giving Shoesday” has been a popular NBDF tradition since 2020. These generous gifts given as part of the program help community members through a variety of initiatives and resources.

“This year's Giving Tuesday theme encapsulates the excitement of the foundation's renewed commitment to the community,” said Alexandra Rios, annual giving manager. “Our rebranding is more than a name change; it is a testament to our forward momentum and dedication to making a real difference. I invite you to join us this Giving Tuesday and be part of our transformative journey. Your donation today will shape a brighter future for those we serve. I plan to donate and have my family wear matching pairs of NBDF sneakers!"

This year, NBDF hopes to raise over $25,000 on Giving Tuesday. The NBDF rebrand is the inspiration for the latest shoe designs and the “Giving Shoesday” themefocused on more inclusivity of everyone the foundation serves.

Donors who give a gift of $70 or more will receive a pair of custom NBDF Converse sneakers. If participants donate at least $150, they will receive a pair of custom Nikes.

All design options for both Converse and Nike shoes are available online. Once a donation is presented, NBDF will follow up within 24 hours with an order form. Shoes can be shipped anywhere in the United States and are expected to ship six to 12 weeks after ordering, depending on the shoes requested.

Mark your calendar for November 28 and step into the future with NBDF.
