Walk Season Closes in November

NHF's national Walk program has become so popular that the season now stretches from April through November. By the end of this year, we will have walked in 34 cities, raising more than $2.5 million through national and local funds.  Thank you to all who have contributed to make these Walks possible.

Please join us for this final Walk of the season:

New Walk Grants for 2014

NHF is pleased to announce two grants from Baxter Healthcare to support Hemophilia Walk initiatives in 2014.

The Step Up Fund will support a comprehensive assessment of the national Hemophilia Walk program.  Going into its 7th year, NHF realizes the need to move the program to the next level.  The Step Up Fund will address the needs for the national Walk program to have a more strategic view on a national and local level.  NHF will partner with a third-party vendor to conduct this assessment, which will incorporate the feedback of national and local staff.

The Baxter Hemophilia Walk Medical Education Fund will support research fellowships in three areas: nursing, social work and physical therapy.  With every chapter that completes a Hemophilia Walk event, Baxter will contribute money to the fund. The funds will go directly to three fellows in the aforementioned disciplines over the next three years.

For more information, please contact Kristin Hokoyama, NHF National Development Manager of Special Events: 212.328.3711 or khokoyama@hemophilia.org.
