The National Hemophilia Foundation's (NHF) held its annual gala fundraising event, the 2015 Spring Soiree, on Thursday, May 21, at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City. More than 235 guests flocked to this fun venue for food, fun and fundraising. Thanks to our donors and sponsors, the event raised $400,000.

New this year was a paddle pledge conducted by CK Swett, charity auctioneer, which raised more than $30,000. The funds will provide the opportunity for people with bleeding disorders to attend NHF's Annual Meeting. The live auction boasted four oustanding prizes this year: VIP tickets to "Dancing with the Stars" in LA; A Day with "Family Guy"; Astronaut for a Day experience at the Kennedy Space Center; and  grandstand tickets to the 2015 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The event paid tribute to three honorees who have made significant contributions to the bleeding disorders community:

  • Steven W. Pipe, MD, Leadership in Research Award
  • Jeanne M. Lusher, MD, Inspiration Award
  • CSL Behring, Corporate Leadership Award
